Preceded in death by her parents Anna E. Hodges (Kirkham) and James H. Casteel (Swallows).
Married to her soul mate Charles "Chuck" Edwin Black on August 30, 1958 who preceded her in death on January 8, 2022. Proud mother of Melissa "Missi" Hill (Terry); Charles Corey Black and Mary "Kate" Kathryn Keating (Steve); Loving grandmother and great grandmother of Jessica (Woodford Jr.) Bowles (children Adam Michael Bowles and Cameron Dean Bowles), Jasmine (Cameron) Oathout (children Ember Rayne Oathout and Khyber Charles Ray Oathout) and Jeffery (Brittany Hinkle) Hill (his daughter Madison Ann Hill and their son Everett Alvin Hill and expecting a daughter Willa Dawn Hill); loving aunt to Mila (Michael) Sliwa and loving friend to many.
Norma Jeane was preceded in death by her loving sister Janice R Hughes (Sewell), brother-in-law Raleigh Sewell and Jack Hughes, nephew Ryan (Patty) Hughes; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Norma Jeane will be remembered as a very talented painter, pianist, dancer, sculptor and storyteller with a great sense of style and a wonderful sense of humor. She was fortunate enough to meet and marry her soul mate, Chuck, in 1958 in Indianapolis, IN. Jeane and Chuck were both artists and taught their children and grandchildren a deep love for all the arts. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren over the distance and was very proud of all of them.
Friends and family will gather for a Celebration of Life for Norma Jeane & Chuck that will be held Friday, September 8th, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a Remembrance Service starting at 2:30 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois 60130.
