Robert J. Olsen, age 83, passed away on August 20, 2026. Born on November 30, 1942, he was the beloved son of the late Canute and the late Dorothy Olsen. Loving brother of Perry (the late Vaughan) Olsen. Cherished uncle of Sandra Darst, Nancy Golden, Carolyn Olsen, and Linda Zirkelbach, and a caring great uncle of Madeline Hutto, Meredith Golden, Erica Zirkelbach, John Zirkelbach, and Perry Olsen.
Robert was a graduate of Palmer Grade School and Roosevelt High School. Athletics were an important part of Robert’s life. He was a triple letter athlete—Football, Basketball, and Tennis—and his discipline and competitive spirit were perhaps best reflected in his achievement as Chicago City Tennis Champion.
