Padre, 

It's been 2 months since you went to heaven, and we miss you so much! 

Mi Madre! is doing very well and also missing you in her own way. She's always asking for her "viejo"... Please know that your sons have rallied around "your love of your life" and are taking care of her as best we can. I'm keeping items from being on top of your Virgin Mary pictures on the dining table and I think I'm doing good job! 

I gave your twin beds to Romi and she's very appreciative, Lizbeth, Helinda and now Minerva all care for mom as if she was their own mother; we are appreciative of them. 

I'm very disappointed that we didn't get to go to Florida, sure wanted to take you and South Chicago to Commercial Street to see where you lived when you worked in the steel mills of Indiana. 

Thank you so much for being "El Mejor Padre y Mi Amigo". I will always have a special place in my heart for you. I will miss our weekly rides around the city and forest preserves. So much I wanted to do with you, but God had different plans. I'm glad you're with Him now and not suffering anymore... Monica, Karyssa and I will be going fishing soon (promise) and thinking of you. 

There is so much I want to write because I want to let everyone know what a great dad you were with your sons and other neighbor kids.

We will never forget you!

We were all blessed to have known my father in law, plain and simple, he was a family man. Men like him are a rare breed. I was blessed to marry his son Tony. I wish I could have told him, “you did a great job raising him. Your hard work ethic and providing for your family was passed down to your sons and grandchildren.” 

He was a devoted husband to my mother in law who became her caregiver and never wanted to put her in a nursing home. The happiest I ever saw him was when his grandchildren were around him.  He loved cooking for them making their favorite breakfast meals. His face lit up with joy and pride and he couldn’t do enough for them. He was a gentle soul who cared about the well being of all of us, extended family members and friends. 

Suegrito, Your smile and love for us is permanently etched in our hearts. You are missed and loved by many.  Diosito lo tenga en el Cielo🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼!

Thirty four years. That’s how long I got to have you in my life. What a blessing you were.

What i’d give for… one more dance with you, one more lechita time, one more breakfast, one more birthday song, one more Christmas, one more selfie or one more random lazy Sunday with a hug and kiss that leave me smelling like you. 

Thank you for loving me, loving all of us the way you did, loving Buela til death you parted. You’ve set a standard that I don’t think anyone will ever meet and I’m grateful for it. How privileged was I to be your granddaughter and know your big loving heart. 

I’ll be ok Buelo and as much as I miss you here with us, I know you needed to go. I know you needed to breath. 

You’re free now, con Diosito, smiling down on us as we journey through our lives. You got promoted to Angel now and I look forward to feeling your spirit along the way until we meet again.

So sadden to hear about the loss of your father Don Rogelio 😢 He was a great father husband and man. I have many fond memories of him as I was growing up and he will be missed, with great sympathy for the family I will forever remember him in our hearts... Prayers and love Berry Samaniego 

Don Rogelio Peña was a great  leader in the community. Not only for myself but for my eight siblings who reached out to him for guidance and help. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and patience! RIP

So many memories I have of the man I called Tío Rogelio, when I was 6 years old I would sit on my lunch box and he would let me steer the old station wagon while he drove us all to school. QEPD a man who did it right and was a wonderful and beautiful example. 

Rogelio Pena and his family gave us the opportunity to be together when Magdalena lived with them. They were very protective and cared about her future, the whole Pena family always cared and showed love at the end of the day. I strive everyday to have the love,support, understanding in my family that I've seen over the decades in the Pena family.  Rogelio has had and will always have my respect when I share my stories about the Pena family.  My hat off to the man in every sense .       -Carmelo Blacconiere. 

I was fortunate to meet Mr. Pena several times at family events and parties.  He was always welcoming and you were enveloped immediately into the family. He was one of the nicest gentlemen anyone has had the good fortune to meet.  I know why heaven shines so brightly of late it is because one of the brightest stars - Mr. Pena is shining down upon us all.  My condolences and prayers go out to the Peña Families on your loss.  


I remember going fishing swimming, camping with the Pena family your dad is a great man I have a lot of great memories thanks to him and will always be so thankful for knowing him and leaving us with all these memories of my childhood I will miss him very much .

Mr. and Mrs. Peña we’re in town and came onboard to see me re-enlist onboard the Ship. It was great having them onboard and witnessing this event. 

With great sadness I send my condolences to the Peña family.  Mr. Peña was an amazing person, father and grandfather. I recall the joy on his face when his grandkids would arrive to his house running down  his driveway to run and hug him. The joy he brought to everyone was amazing. He always had a high spirit and would do anything he could to help people out. His presence will be missed by all. He lived a great life full of Love for his family raising 3 amazing sons with his wife. To the Peña family I’m deeply sorry for you’re loss but I guarantee you that he will always look after all of you.  My prayers and love go out to you all God Bless .
