Rosemarie P. Baloun

Rosemarie P. Baloun, nee Carr, age 99, of Riverside, Illinois passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Edward John Baloun. Rosemarie was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 27, 1925 to John and Nan (Kearns) Carr.

Rosemarie attended Amundsen High School on Chicago and studied accounting at DePaul University in Chicago.

Rosemarie and Edward had four children, raised in Riverside, Illinois, and were longtime parishioners of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Rosemarie was an active member at Riverside Golf Club, the Lyric Opera Bridge Club, Riverside Jr. Women's Club, and the Riverside Garden Club.

Rosemarie was an avid great golfer and taught her children to play as well. She loved to travel with her children to warm sunny beaches, and go to the Northwest mountains and ocean.

Rosemarie was the loving mother of the late Sally Baloun, Nancy Chambers, Edward T. Baloun, and Susan Baloun.

She is the grandmother of Claudia Lagos, the late Paul Baloun, and Michael Chambers Jr., great grandmother to George and Sofia Lagos, and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward John Baloun and her siblings Jack (Mary) Carr, Sally Biagi (Carr) (Quinten), and Timothy (Linda) Carr.

Rosemarie was a very loving mother and enjoyed her life in good health for 99 wonderful years of joy, friendship, and family.

A visitation for Rosemarie will be held Tuesday January 7 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Riverside; St Paul VI Parish, 105 Herrick Rd, Riverside. Burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery 1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside.
