Ruth Vlasaty Novotny

Born in Oak Park and raised in Cicero, Illinois, Ruth met the love of her life, Charles Novotny, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Vlasaty; her son, Charles Novotny; her granddaughter, Megan Novotny and her brother-in-law, Frank Pliml.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Charles; her sister, Marlene Pliml; her daughter, Janice Weigand (Brian); her son, Joseph Novotny (Stacy); and her daughter-in-law, Terri Novotny. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Randy (Lauren), Greg (Kara), Corey (Brittany), Nicholas (Corrie), Michael (Taylor), Daniel (Sarah), and Taylor (Alex); and five great-grandchildren: Harper, Carter, Camden, Collette, and Calvin. She is also fondly remembered by her nephew, Lance Pliml (Julie), and her niece, Lana Kautza (Paul).

Ruth and Charles were longtime residents of Downers Grove, Illinois, where Ruth spent many years working in the local school district. For 37 years, they enjoyed spending their winters in Naples, Florida. Ruth enjoyed golfing, bingo, dance club, and, above all, time with her family. She was active in her Naples community, serving as building president and on the golf and dance committees.

Ruth will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
