Born on May 25, 1939, in Berwyn, Sandra lived a life rooted in family, education, and a deep love for the people and traditions that meant the most to her. She dedicated many years as a third-grade teacher in Bellwood, Illinois, where she nurtured young minds with patience, warmth, and a steady belief in the potential of every child.
Sandra found her greatest happiness in the company of her family. She is lovingly survived by her partner of 40 years, Charles Foune; her three children, William (Doris) Henry, Stephen Henry, and Anne (James) Dahle; her nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Patricia (Robert) Musil; her brother, William (Julie) Molek, her beloved cousins, and her nieces and nephews.
She had a gift for appreciating life’s simple pleasures—spirited Jazzercise classes, well-worn mystery novels, lively games of rummy and Crazy Eights, and the satisfying challenge of a crossword puzzle. Each fall, she looked forward to traveling to Door County, where the changing leaves mirrored her appreciation for life’s seasons. Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren, whose laughter and presence brought her endless joy.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park, Illinois. A time for sharing memories of Sandra will be at 2:30 pm.
