How do I condense almost 64 yrs. of memories & friendship that Sue & I shared? We met in April 1955 when I moved across the street from her on N. Mont Clare. Best friends at 4 yrs. old, in the same classroom every yr. at St. Williams thru 8th grade. Outside of school our days, weekends, & summers were spent together sleeping over at & having meals at each other's houses, roller skating, riding bikes, ice skating at local frozen-over ponds, sledding down the hills at Riis Park, playing in the sprinklers on hot summer days, trick-or-treating, building snowmen, walking to the 'show', going to Kiddieland, crossing Diversey to get penny candy at a local small store called 'Sue's', and countless other activities. I was thrilled to move to California in July of '65 but the saddest day of my 14 yrs. was saying goodbye to the neighborhood & my best friend Sue. Tho miles separated us, our friendship continued - we spoke several times a yr. by phone; she visited me in Calif. in 1967; I was in her wedding in 1970; (she was due to have Shelly so couldn't be in my June '74 wedding); I surprised her with a visit in 1978; and she, Dave, & kids visited Joe & I & our menagerie of animals in 1997 or 1998 & again in 2002.
Dave, Erin, David, Shelly, Gene, and Danny, Kathleen, Sharon, Rita, & Rudy - I am flooded with memories of Sue and of ALL of you. Know that my thoughts, my prayers, and my HEART are with you and will especially be with you on Friday. No matter the years or distance, you all have been a huge part of my life in so many ways. It would be an honor to talk to any of you & share memories of Sue over the phone someday. God bless you and comfort you all in Jesus's name.

Aunt Sue was the true sense of the word Godmother to me. She was the one I went to for advice and talks about kids, work and marriage. The best part of my life with her was growing up with Gene & Shelly and even babysitting them & next raising our kids together when Erin & David came along! Not many people have the luxury and blessing to be that close and spend so much time with their aunt/Godmother. I miss her dearly, I wish Dave & her kids & Josh comfort in the fond memories we all have with her to carry them through the sadness of her loss. She will be missed. I will see you again in heaven!

I remember Sue as a dedicated Mom to Erin,David, Gene, and Shelly. She hosted her Mother in law every summer and traveled far to see her Aunt every November. Sue was so kind to my daughter Sarah, and always treated her like family. I can see her standing on my front porch with a flowered sleeper for my new baby Elizabeth Rose. Sue was a special person to those who knew her. She was lovingly quiet. Rip friend You will be missed
