

Tony Vincent Marquez, 93, passed away on August 24, 2026. Born October 21, 1932, Tony lived a life defined by steady devotion to others, marked by quiet strength, diligence, and an openhanded way of giving that asked for nothing in return.
Tony proudly served in the US Army as a Korean War Veteran, carrying that sense of duty and perseverance throughout his life. He later retired from Exhibit Group Giltspur, remembered as a man who believed in honest work and followed through with care and consistency.
A natural helper in both word and deed, Tony found purpose in the everyday ways he could be of service. He enjoyed being a handyman, working on projects in the garage, and lending his time to neighbors and friends. His willingness to help everyone was not occasional—it was a defining rhythm of his days, offered with sincerity and without hesitation.
Tony will be remembered for unwavering integrity, and a readiness to help anyone in need. He is also fondly remembered for riding in his scooter, a familiar sight that became part of the ordinary comfort he brought to those around him.
Tony was the loving son of the late Antonio and Angela Marquez; beloved husband of the late Dragica Marquez; loving father of the late Paul (Donna) Marquez, the late Rose (the late Larry) Douglas, Antonnette (the late Al) Cox, Katheleen (Ken) Purcell, Joseph (Catherine) Marquez, Matthew (Stephanie) Maquez, Nicole Marquez (Adair), and Michael (Karina) Marquez.
Tony was the cherished grandfather of Anthony, Sarah, Michael, Jonathan, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Mark, Jason, Amy, Christopher, Daniel, Sandra, Jeffery, Shauna, Patricia, Rebecca, Alexander, Jennifer, Brandon, Colin, Emily, Analia, Alicia, Arianna, and Adair, Jr.; treasured great-grandfather and great great-grand father.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, IL 60130, on August 30, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Services conclude this evening, cremation rites to be accorded.
