Vince M. Rotello Jr. passed away peacefully on April 11, 2021 at the age of 93 at Alden Estates in Barrington. He was born in Chicago on February 29, 1928 to Vincent and Meta (Osterkamp) Rotello. He grew up in Chicago and spent his entire life in the greater Chicago area. In 1956 he married the love of his life Patricia (Rennagel) Rotello, who predeceased him in 2012 after almost 56 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter Catherine Rotello and her fiancé Linda Dowd, son Vincent III and his wife Caren Rotello, and by his grandson Vincent Rotello (IV). He attended Ravenswood Elementary School, Lake View and Lane Tech High School, and graduated from DePaul University in 1953. Vince pursued a variety of careers, all focused on human relations. He co-owned the Rayrien Lounge in Chicago, and played the saxophone and clarinet in a four-piece band at wedding parties from 1946 to 1958. He then moved into human resources, working as Personnel Manager at Field Enterprises from 1961 to 1971, at Hershey Foods from 1971 to 1974 and at Brake Parts from 1974 to 1985. Before and after his retirement he actively supported Patricia’s art career, helping her with presenting her sculpture in art fairs and gallery shows. Vince appreciated the great outdoors all through his life, spending summers in Algonquin IL as a youth, and camping and fishing in Wisconsin with his family for many years. He also enjoyed tennis, cross-country skiing and playing the piano. Vince’s charm, and his notable and unique sense of humor, will be missed by all who knew him.
