

Alma C. Schnelker, 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at St. Anne Home & Retirement Community. Born on May 16, 1933 in New Haven, she was a daughter of the late Alban and Angeline (Kamp) Schnelker. Alma retired from North American Van Lines after 46 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church and the American Business Women’s Association. She is survived by her sister, Carolee (Richard) Horner of Van Wert, Ohio; brother, Ervin “Pete” Schnelker of Fort Wayne; brothers-in-law, Max Olinger of Fort Wayne and Richard Ruger of New Haven; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Rosalie Ruger, Ruth Olinger, and Edith Abbott; and brothers, Josef, George, Charles, and James Schnelker. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road., Fort Wayne, with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30pm. Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church or to the Masses.
