Anna Lee Allendorph

Anna Lee Allendorph, a mom, grandma, great grandma, aunt, sister, and friend, affectionately known as “Annie” passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. She was born on December 25, 1929, in Xenia, Ohio.

Annie is survived by her daughter, Sharon L. Roberts, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a son, L. David Allendorph and daughter-in-law, Linda L. Allendorph; grandson, Lucas M. Allendorph and his wife, Haley Mathis; and a great granddaughter, Indigo Sage Mae Allendorph, all of Hau’ula Hawaii. Additionally, she is survived by her, niece, Carol L. (Randy) Amatto of Spokane, Washington; a great niece, Kiley; and great nephews, Brent and Blake.

Mom was a graduate of North Side High School, Fort Wayne. In the late 1940’s, she met and married Lewis R. "Lew" Allendorph, and worked at West Lafayette High School as the secretary while Lew finished his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Purdue University. After graduation they moved back to Fort Wayne where both of their parents lived and started their family. They attended South Wayne Baptist Church and were active there until the American Baptist

Association of Churches decided to expand to the growing northeast side of Fort Wayne where they helped found Faith Baptist Church where they were members until their deaths.

Annie led a long and comfortable life as a wife and mom, she loved being both. She stayed busy raising her family and doing the shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, running errands, and all the things associated with leading a young family.

In 1966, mom and dad, along with mom’s sister and brother-in-law, bought a lake cottage on Duck Lake near Interlochen, Michigan. Mom loved the trees and cool lake breezes but especially her swing down by the water where every night she watched the spectacular

Michigan sunsets. Mom loved listening to music, watching TV, especially the weather, reading the newspaper, talking with her sister on the phone every day, and the fellowship of a few close friends from church.

Annie was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1995 and underwent a successful surgery and withstood the therapies that followed. She was a cancer survivor of over 30 years. She experienced several small strokes over the years after but was never incapacitated from them until the final stroke that eventually took her life. Not only a survivor but a fighter as well. Even with her health challenges later in life she kept moving forward. After over 4 years of being apart, mom and dad are reunited once again in Heaven.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Gifts and memorials in Annie's name may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 6600 Trier Rd., Fort Wayne. Her finally resting will be alongside her husband, Lew, at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
