ANNABELLE M. TONKEL, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Parkview Hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1931 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Walter and Goldie (Cox) McMillen. She retired from Town House Retirement Home in 1993 after nineteen years of service in Housekeeping. She was an Auxillary Member of Leo American Legion Post #409 for 45 years. She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Tonkel of Fort Wayne; sons, Vaughn Jay (Laurette) Tonkel of Fort Wayne, Steve (Becky) Tonkel of Albion, Mick (Trudy) Tonkel of Uptown, Wyo., and Mark Tonkel of Harlan; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Kitcher of Lake Placid, Fla.; brother, Russell (Jan) McMillen of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marjorie Waldon. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Scott Davis officiating. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial at Leo Cemetery. Memorials to Leo American Legion Post #409.
