Barbara A. Glentzer

Barbara A. Glentzer, 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, affectionately known by her family as Bart, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026. She was born on February 21, 1942, in Portland, Indiana, a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Nellie Lola (Wiebusch) McClung. She graduated from Portland High School in the class of 1960, and later, International Business College in 1962 with a private secretarial degree. Bart worked for an engineering firm in Topeka, Kansas, and then at Magnavox in Fort Wayne. Later in life, she worked for the Allen County Prosecutor's office as a paralegal. Bart will be remembered as someone who enjoyed game days with family, singing at the piano, restoring old furniture, oil painting, and watching the Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed hosting family gatherings and served as an innkeeper at her parents former home in Portland, known as the Chicago Avenue Inn. Surviving family include her husband; two daughters; three grandsons; two great grandsons; a sister; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by five siblings. A funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.
