Bernice M. Wirl Schlichtenmyer

BERNICE M. SCHLICHTENMYER, , 76, of Fort Wayne, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. She passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, at Parkview Emergency Room surrounded by her family members. She was the daughter of the late Clifford Wirl and Marie Recore. She was a dedicated Nurse for 38 years. She was a kind, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. "She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family and her service to others." Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of 27 years, Donald Schlichtenmyer; children; Charles (Tasha) Putterbaugh, Teresa Croteau, Karen (Don) Carey, Edward (Sue) Schlichtenmyer, Brian (Toni) Schlichtenmyer and Shari (Dave) Lloyd; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Michael Recore, Patrick Recore and Dennis Recore; and her devoted dogs, Coty, Kelly and Missy. Funeral service is 8 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
