Carol Lee Moellering

CAROL L. MOELLERING, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at Kingston Health Care Center. Born on Feb. 4, 1932 in Decatur, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Dale and Wileta (Emery) Wortman. Carol attended Bowling Green State University and earned a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. She was a homemaker for many years and also worked as a school teacher for 10 years within the Cleveland and Fort Wayne school industries. She was very active in the local arts to include the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and theater support. She was an avid genealogist and pianist. She is survived by her son, David (Linda) Moellering of Fort Wayne; her daughter, Caroline Moellering of Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren, Fiona, Finton, and Sadie Gallagher; step-granddaughter, Jill Norris; step-great-granddaughter, Emilia Norris; and her sister, Colleen (Fred) Grumley of Birmingham, Ala. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Honorable Alfred W. Moellering. Funeral Service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Burial at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
