

Charles C. Cage Jr., 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015. Born on November 6, 1922, in Waldenburg, Arkansas, he was a son of the late Charles C. and Edith H. (nee Millahn) Cage. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne; he proudly served his country in the Army, during WWII, in the Army’s 101st and 82nd Airborne Division in Europe; and as a meteorologist in the Army Air Corp, earning a Master’s degree in Meteorology from the California Institute of Technology. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte C. (nee Voss) Cage; children, Col. Steven (Sandra) Cage, of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Susan (David) Burgess, of Franklin, Wisconsin, Timothy Cage, of New York, New York and Rev. Peter (Patricia) Cage, of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Kristen (Charles) Murphy, Daniel, Erin, and Lauren Burgess, Emily, Elizabeth, Michelle, Connor and Cameron Cage; great-grandson, Lyle Burgess; sister-in-law, Jean Voss. He was also preceded in death by his sister; Ila Mae Glenn; and brothers, Lamar and William Cage.
Funeral service will be at 11:00am on Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1126 Barr Street, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2-5pm on Sunday September 20, 2015, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Charles C. and Charlotte C. Cage Endowment Fund.
