Charles J. Close II

He was born on March 1, 1958 to the late Charles J. Close I and Carol (Hiers) McKearney in Columbia City, Indiana. He graduated from Churubusco High School where he was a star athlete. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Goodyear and retired as a service manager. After retirement, he worked at Parkview. Charles loved to garden and work outside. He also enjoyed trivia, classic rock, and sports.

He is survived by his children, Jessica Close, Melissa Close, and Charles “Charlie” J. Close III; sister, Cathie Wheeler; and a brother, Chris Close. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amayah, Brayden, and Scarlett. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Ashley. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 Saint Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Calling will be from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church. A celebration of Charles’ life will be announced after the service.
