Charles H. Harkless, 86, of Fort Wayne, died on July 14, 2014, at his home. Born on September 28, 1927, in Monmouth, he was a son of the late Millard E. and Marguerite E. (nee Hitchcock) Harkless. He retired from Harvester International in 1976 after 30 years of service, and also worked at Coast to Coast Hardware and Parrish Leasing.
He is survived by his daughter Deborah A. Hughes; sons, Richard D. Harkless and Lawrence C. (Lisa) Harkless; brother, Donald W. Harkless; and six grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ellen E. Harkless, in 1982; and daughter, Linda S. Hardin, in 1993.
Funeral service will be 4 pm Sunday July 20, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, officiated by Rev. Murray Clugston, with calling from 1 to 4 pm prior to service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
