

Charles “Chuck” Putterbaugh, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Thornton, Ohio on June 14, 1932, he was the son of the late Marcellus Putterbaugh and Martha Kalin. After graduation from high school, Chuck proudly, and honorably served 4 years in the United States Navy. Upon his release from active duty, Chuck continued his adventures working for the United States government, often traveling overseas with his family in tow. A job as an engineer at Magnavox brought the Putterbaugh family to Fort Wayne. Chuck then retired from Magnavox after 20 years of employment. When he was not working, he enjoyed fishing, playing softball, going to auctions, and fixing up older homes. Chuck is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara (Shiery) Putterbaugh; his daughters, Karen (Don) Carey and Teresa Croteau; his son, Charles Putterbaugh Jr.; and his sister, Valerie Roswell. Also privileged to have shared in his life are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.
