Connie was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a devoted dog lover, an avid reader, a champion of the overlooked, a faithful maker of casseroles, and fiercely protective of the people she loved. With a true servant’s heart, Connie was always helping others, especially those who felt unseen or without an advocate. Connie loved deeply and generously, and her presence made others feel safe, valued, and cared for. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Marshall Vonderau; her three daughters, Dani Kiefer (Alex), Kara Vonderau (Ben Rist-Brown), and Rachel Vonderau; her two beloved granddaughters, Amelia and Becca Kiefer; her brother, Jim Coughlin; and many nieces and nephews who lovingly knew her as Aunt Cookie.
