Darin Duane Gorrell

Throughout his working career, Darin was a dedicated truck driver, most recently employed as a car hauler through Accelerated Services and was the owner and operator of Stryker Auto. He took great pride in his work and was especially proud of his bright orange Peterbilt truck, which reflected his personality—bold, hardworking, and full of character.

In his spare time, Darin loved riding his side-by-sides with his friends, always up for an adventure and a good laugh. He was truly everybody’s friend—loyal, genuine, and always ready with a joke to lift someone’s spirits. Darin will be remembered as a lifelong friend to many, a jokester with a big heart, and someone who made every moment brighter for those around him.

He is survived by his parents, Norman Gorrell and Nancy Shaffer; his sister, Dawn (Robert) Martin; and his beloved nephews and niece, Lucas, Jackson, and Lydia.

A visitation to celebrate Darin’s life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46835. Immediately following, the family invites you to join them at 3 Pals Pub in New Haven to continue celebrating the life of Darin.

Darin’s laughter, friendship, and love for life will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
