DAVID A. FLOSS, 60, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Regency Place, Fort Wayne. Born Feb. 26, 1951, in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late Evelyn (Schlosser) Romes and Robert Floss Sr. He graduated from Paulding High School and received his degree from Bethel College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He was employed at Super-Valu for 32 years and would have retired April 30, 2011. "David was a loving son, brother and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He loved his cat, Joker and was an avid movie buff. He was known for his kindess and extreme generosity to others and his great sense of humor." Surviving are brothers, Robert (Sharon) Floss Jr. of Urbana, Darriel (Connie) Suffel of Defiance, Randy (Mickey) Suffel of Paulding, Tony Suffel of Waterville, and John (Angie) Romes of Defiance; sister, Joyce Gerber of Indiana; a very special stepmother, Lorna (Ed) Bataille of Toms River, N.J.; and stepfather, William Romes of Defiance. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Romes and Janice Hancock. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Father Joseph Gaughan officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials to S.P.C.A.
