

David L. Johnston, 75, of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 31, 2020. Born on July 12, 1944, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Leonard E and Agnes (Morand) Johnston; and retired in 2010, from Canterbury Green Apartments after more than 20 years of service in the Maintenance Department. David also maintained the Camp McMillen Girl Scout site, near Huntertown, from 1982 to 1989, after a long career with Berne Furniture, in Berne. For many years David enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen cooking and euchre card parties with family and friends. While living in Monroe, he enjoyed gardening and tending an apple orchard, while raising his family. David's love of cards continued in his later years with UNO being his favorite. He was a former member of the United Methodist Church of the Covenant, Fort Wayne, and the Monroe United Methodist Church, Monroe; and graduated from Adams Central High School, in 1963.
He is survived by his son, Christopher L Johnston, of Maricopa, Arizona; daughter, Nicole (Dave Jr) Rosswurm, of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Emily (Cody) Demske, of Warsaw, Tyler Rosswurm, of Fort Wayne, and Phillip Johnston, of Maricopa, Arizona; ex-wife, Cheryl Johnston; two nephews, and numerous cousins, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Johnston; and companion of 20 years, Ann E Shoaf.
Private family services are being held. Burial will be in Six Mile Cemetery, Bluffton. Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
