DAVID D. UNDERHILL, 88, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, peacefully at home. He retired from Leath and Company, after 35 years of service. He was an Army Air Corp veteran- awarded two bronze stars and a member of American Legion Post 47. Surviving are his two daughters, Debi (Steven) Dice of Fort Wayne, Janice (Rick) Smith of Muncie, Ind.; grandchildren, Ryan, Chad, Ashli Smith, Travis and Nathan Dice of Fort Wayne; four great-grandchildren, Reagan, Aiden, Brayton, and Sevyn; and brother, Robert Underhill of Ames, Iowa He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Barbara A. Underhill in 2006 and brothers, Richard and Edward Underhill. "He was inspirational, dedicated, loyal, and honest, for the well being of others." Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Visitation also from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
