Dennis Lee Shearer, 68, of New Haven, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born May 25, 1948 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Richard Shearer and Virginia (Holder) Bookmiller. Denny was an Inspector with Zollner Pistons for 31 years; from which he retired. He enjoyed Lottery, fishing, NASCAR, and working outdoors-tending to his yard and flowers. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them race and play sports. He is survived by his daughter, Carey (Jeff) King of Decatur; son, Shawn Shearer of New Haven; four grandchildren, Karissa (Ben) Swygart, Justin King, Jake King, and Vance Shearer; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Penny (John) Wood and Janet Shearer, both of Fort Wayne; three nieces; and longtime partner of 13 years, Karen Ross of New Haven.
