Donald Lee "Don" Blauvelt

Donald Lee "Don" Blauvelt, 69, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital. Born May 30, 1943, he retired as a Truck Driver from Consolidated Freightways after 35 years. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and a retired member of Teamsters Local 414. "Don was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing." Surviving are his wife, Sue; son, Jason (Theresa) Haner of Leo; grandchildren Ilyssa and Jacob Haner; brother, Ray (Wanda) Blauvelt of Fort Wayne; half sister, Vera Deivilbiss of Dallas, Texas; and his dog, Pepi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Alice Blauvelt; and brothers, Wayne, Larry and Roy Blauvelt. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road with Pastor Dale Henderson officiating, Visitation is from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the funeral home. Private burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials to St. Matthews Lutheran Church - Food Bank, Cancer Services of N.E. Indiana or Alzheimer's Association.
