Donna Mae Welch

Donna Mae Welch, 98, of Fort Wayne, passed away on October 28, 2026, at Byron Health Care Center. Born July 22, 1928, in Canton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Rose (Freiday) VanKirk. Donna married the love of her life, the late Robert Welch, and together they started a family. Donna was a wonderful homemaker and worked several jobs throughout her lifetime. She was a beloved wife and mother and loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing and was a great cook. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Alicia) Welch of Portland, Ore., Ronald “Ron” (Joy) Welch of Fort Wayne, and David J. Welch of Canton, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Welch; daughter, Laura Warstler; brother, Dale VanKirk; and sister, Betty Smith. Services will be held by the family at a later date.
