Obituary of Doris W. Weissert Schultz
DORIS W. SCHULTZ, 93, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Westbury, N.Y., died on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Saint Anne Home & Retirement Community. Born Fe.b 28, 1919, in Bronx, N.Y., she was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She retired in 1980 as secretary from East Meadow High School, East Meadow Long Island, N.Y. She sewed children's clothing for Lutheran Social Services; volunteered at Holy Cross Lutheran School Library for 15 years; and was 'Queen of Memories' for the Alzheimer's Walk in 2009. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy (Bill) Krumm of Fort Wayne, Anita (Paul) Waldner of Germany, Francine (Ray) Ormand of Manhassett, N.Y., and Joanne (Wayne) Schultz-Ithier of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Gretchen Krumm, Stephanie (Darin) Flannery, Emilie (Tim) Gerbers, Laura (Eric) Werner, Frank Waldner, Julie Waldner, Peter (Sindy) Ormand, Luke (Nicole) Ormand, Andrew (Kate) Buffalino, and Anna Buffalino; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis, in 1983; parents; two brothers; and three sisters. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Steve Ensley officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept, 28, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Caverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lutheran South Unity School or Lutheran Social Services.
