Edmund L. Springer

Edmund L. Springer, 77, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died, Feb. 22, 2011 at Parkview North Hospital. Born in Pleasant Township, Allen County, Ind., he was the son of Louis and Mathilde (Krueckeberg) Springer. He was an US Army veteran. He retired in 1991 as an accountant with K-Mart Distribution Center after 40 year of service. He was also a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 241. He is survived by his wife Mary (Rupright) Springer; daughter, Tami (Phil) Sundermann of Napoleon, OH and son Dan (Carla) Springer, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren; step-daughters, Mary Rita (Terry) Paschal of Orlando, Fla. and Janet (David) Happel of Fort Wayne, Ind.; five step-grandchildren, seven step-great grandchildren; brother, Wayne(Dorothy) Springer of Fort Wayne, Ind.; sisters, Katherine Greene, Marcella Kronmiller and LaVera (Darrel) Hitzemann all of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Doris Sowers of New Haven, Ind. He was preceded in death by his first wife Doris, who died in 2002 and brother, Fred Springer. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Sat. Feb 26, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church 2435 Engle Road, Fort Wayne, Ind. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
