Edward L. "Ed" Offerle, 73, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1950 in Fort Wayne, a son of the late Ferdinand and Henrietta (Lauer) Offerle. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, Fort Wayne and later Vincennes University. He worked in sales at Motion Industries until his retirement in 2012. For more than 50 years, Ed belonged to and volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a Scout himself and later earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Surviving family include his children; Shelley (Dustin) Rust, Lara (Richard) Isham, and Greg Offerle; two grandchildren and one great-grandson; and brother, Joseph (Carol) Offerle. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Maria (Horoch) Offerle; and sister, Kathleen Caudill. Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. A private family inurnment will be at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials in Ed's name may be made to Boy Scouts of America.
