Edwin H. “BIG ED” Reinholt, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Born on February 8, 1928, in Stanton, North Dakota, he was a son of the late Gustiff and Irene (nee Cass) Reinholt.
Ed was the owner of Ed's Sunoco until December 1990. Ed was the husband to the love of his life, Alitza, father to Belinda, Mitch, Rhonda, and Steve. A grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Ed was a kind man and a father-figure to many, and you always knew where you stood with him. When someone needed help, they usually came to him. Ed always made sure everyone had a good time and was a mix of ornery, funny, and a ton of common sense. He was passionate, and lived life to the fullest. Ed loved being at the lake, surrounded by his children, and all of his grandchildren. Ed liked sports, especially bowling, cards, softball, fishing, horseshoes, and IU basketball, and even met, and spoke with Bob Knight.
He is survived by his children, Mitch (Sheryl) Reinholt, Rhonda (Bill Storms) Reinholt-Derickson, Steve (Diana) Reinholt; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of over 71 years, Alitza Reinholt, in January of this year; and daughter, Belinda.
