Eleanor E. Schremser Laird

ELEANOR E. LAIRD, 93, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at Parkview Hospital. Born Jan. 6, 1919, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late John and Adelinda Schrem ser. She was a Systems Analyst at Magnavox, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society. She was an avid writer - having written two engineering secretary handbooks, numerous letters to the Newspaper editor, Poetry and was a play write. She also loved to work in her flower gardens. Her surviving and loving family include her children, Dianne (Tim) Raupfer, Richard (Linda) Laird and Carole Brokaw, all of Fort Wayne, and Patricia (Bruce) Bornkamp of Picayune, Miss.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Marilyn Gorrell of Florida and Margaret (Bob) Joss of Indianapolis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ewing, in 1993; daughter, Joan Galmish, in 2007; and brothers, Howard and Robert Schremser. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the funeral home. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.
