Elizabeth "Betty" Muntzinger Ebel

Elizabeth “Betty” Ebel, 96, of Avon, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 21, 2016. Born on July 4, 1919, in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late A.C. and Clara Muntzinger. Betty was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, and formerly a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. Betty was a member of the Fort Wayne Women’s Club for more than 30 years; she enjoyed her grandchildren and playing bridge.

Betty is survived by her children, Susan E. (Joe) Mehringer, of Avon and Richard A. (Stephanie) Ebel, of Golden, Colorado; grandchildren, Daniel, Adam and Nathan Ebel and Sasha and Madison Mehringer; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brown and Jenesis Ebel, sister, Doris Klug. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Ebel, in 2005; and sister, Elinor Sebold.

Memorial service will be 12:30pm, Friday, March 25, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 6606 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne. Calling will also be held from 4 to 8pm, Thursday March 24, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Entombment will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Gentiva Hospice, Epiphany Lutheran Church or Angels of Mercy Home Care.
