Florence Sordelet

Florence Sordelet, 77, of Fort Wayne passed away on Tuesday May 5, 2015, at her home. Born on October 15, 1937, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Methodi and Kalopa (Geroff) Markoff. Florence was a 1956 graduate of South Side High School, a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, the Cedar Creek Woman’s Club and retired in 1991 from NWACS as an instructional assistant after 15 years of service.

She is survived by her husband of over 54 years, Robert M. Sordelet; sons, Scott T. (Jill) Sordelet, Barry M. (Rita) Sordelet and Mark R. (Cindy) Sordelet; grandchildren, Kirsten (Daniel), Paige, Tayler, Garrett, Hayden, Summer and Jake; sisters, Dorothy Stavreti and Lenka (Steve) Bercot; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amie; and brother-in-law, Chris Stavreti.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Monday May 11, 2015, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1720 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 4 to 8 pm, Sunday May 10, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Entombment will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
