Friederike Hardt

Friedl left college early to become a kindergarten teacher in Austria before becoming a nanny in England. After marriage she was a mother and homemaker.

She enjoyed nature, traveling, gardening, cooking from scratch, baking sweets to share with others, fellowshipping at church and so much more. She embodied Christ’s example of putting others first, especially her family. Friedl was a fantastic cook, treating the family to Austrian specialties as well as local favorites. She made the best fried chicken on Sundays after church.

Friedl married Carl Hardt in Austria in 1961. She then emigrated to the US to begin their life together. Carl died in 2007. Friedl is survived by her children, Trish Hardt, Sonja (Jim) Schmidt, Eric (Tammy) Hardt; grandchildren Rachel (Ben) Eimer, Sam Schmidt, Chris Schmidt, Nicki Schmidt and great-grandchild Joshua Eimer.
