GENE L. HOUCK, 81, of Leo, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at The Cedars. Born in Fort Wayne, was the son of the late Fred and Nellie Houck. He retired from Maintenance at Wayne Feed/Continental Grain, after 36 years. He spent many summers at Lone Tree Point on Lake James. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid (self taught) harmonica, accordion and keyboard player and enjoyed entertaining at nursing homes. He was a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Jackie; children, Larry (Lianna) Houck of Rochester, N.Y. and Connie (Joe) Theobald of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Lindsey, Laren, Diana and Laura; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kaitlyn; and brother, Jack (Marijane) Houck of Pennville, Ind. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Raod, Fort Wayne. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial in Leo Memorial Cemetery.
