

George E. England, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2017, to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born on October 6, 1924, in Bluffton, he was a son of the late George M. and Laulah D. England. He attended Grabill Missionary Church, he worked for many years at GE, Bowmar and then retiring from Trinity Lighting. He proudly served his country in the Army, during WWII, in the infantry in the Northern France campaign. George loved his family and made sure they knew it. He enjoyed playing golf in his younger years.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 70 years, Mary Jo (Bales) England; children, Sharon (Phil) Gibson, Dennis (Dena) England and George (Lisa) England; siblings, Ruth (Jim) Thompson, Naomi (Buck) White, Becky (Bill) Moore and Paul (Nancy) England; grandchildren, Mike Gibson, Kevin (Krystal) Gibson, Ashley (Jon) Lough and George Zachary England; great-grandchildren, Myla & Cohen Lough and Kora Gibson. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Lois McCoy, Roberta Watson and Hope Christy.
Funeral service will be 1pm Tuesday, January 17, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 5 to 8pm, Monday, January 16, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. Memorial donations may be given to Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana.
