Hilda Juanita Baker, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Born on May 1, 1925 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Herbin and Sophia (Meyer) Murchland. Hilda was the bookkeeper with C&P Machine Service for over 50 years and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Surviving are her daughter, Charlene (Darrell) Randolph of Fort Wayne; her sons, Edwin (Carol) Baker of Fort Wayne and David (Charlotte) Baker of Lake James, Angola, IN; eight grandchildren, April (Michael) Pedersen, Crystal Lytle, Edwin (Abigail) Baker, Cory (Laura) Baker, Julie (John) Krass, Brian (Carrie) Baker, Chelsea Randolph, and Connor Randolph; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and close friend, Hank Sztuk. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles D. Baker; two brothers, Orlin and Donald Murchland; and a grandson, Brian Lytle. A Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the church or to Worship for Shut-ins.
