

H. LeROY "LEE" RATLIFF JR., 68, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, surrounded by his loving family at Parkview Hospital. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a graduate of Decatur High School; a veteran of the U.S. Navy; and a graduate of Purdue University. He retired from Indiana Michigan Power after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and Fort Wayne Engineers Club. "He enjoyed traveling, fishing, the art of fly tying and anything, he could build or repair with his hards." Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Mary Ellen (Houser); daughter, Lisa (Brian) Simcox of Noblesville; son, David (Hollie) Ratliff of Huntertown; sisters, Kathryn Prichard of Decatur, Pam (Bob) Brotherwood of St. Marys, Ohio and Sylvia (Cliff) Gonser of Hudson; uncle, U.D. Ratliff Jr.; beloved grandchildren, Jami and Adam Simcox and Abby Ratliff; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer L. Ratliff Sr. and Clara (Morgan) Ratliff; and brother, Earl. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 4916 Trier Road, with calling one hour prior. The family will also receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, and Vigil service at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Masses, Paralyzed Veterans of America or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
