

James C. Goeglein, 83, of Woodburn, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. He was born October 27, 1941, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, son to the late Theodore J. F. and Allma May (Redding) Goeglein. He was a member of Local #715 and retired from Uniroyal Goodrich in 2004. James was the Fire Chief of the B. F. Goodrich Fire Brigade for eight years and served as a member of the St. Joe Township Fire Department. He was a current member of Waynedale United Methodist Church and had served as a Trustee and President of the Men's Club. James served as a board member of Financial Partners Credit Union and as an Embassy Theater Volunteer. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and camping, but especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Carol Jean Goeglein; children, Scott (Dawn) Goeglein, Brian Goeglein, and Cathy JoAnne (Charles III) Douglas; brother, Robert Goeglein; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred Goeglein and John Goeglein; and grandson, Douglas Goeglein. Funeral services will be on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46835 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation for James will also be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.
