John served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He worked at International Harvester for a number of years, he then worked at Mills Supplies until retirement.
John and his wife enjoyed traveling together, seeing the U.S., and sharing peanut butter with banana and Diet Pepsi. He was also an ice cream lover, and even had his own ice cream freezer filled to the brim. He was a charter member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, he was strong in his faith which gave him comfort.
He is survived by his niece, Michelle Jordan; and three god children, Michelle Cox, Doug (Jan) Cox, and Natalie Cox Kaminski.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Jordan, parents, and brother, Donald Jordan.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46835. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
He will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens, Ft. Wayne, IN
