

Judith “Judie” Marilyn Johnson, 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Towne House Retirement Center. Born on November 8, 1933 in Hicksville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John and Grace LaVerne (Armstrong) Blosser. Judie met her husband, Gordon, in 1951 and he has loved her from that day on. They were married on March 26, 1955. Judie was a teacher with Fort Wayne Community Schools, mostly serving Snider High School, for over 35 years; from which she retired. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church for over 40 years and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was also a member of PSI IOTA XI Sorority, Vestavia Women’s Club, and Fort Wayne Sister Cities. Judie loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends, she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gordon Johnson of Fort Wayne; son, Jeff Johnson of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter, Jill (Randy) Merle of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Michael Merle, Deborah Merle, and Jared Johnson; one great-granddaughter, Lilly Johnson; sister, Barbara Chamberlain Fairclough of Fort Wayne; brother, John (Dorothy) Blosser of Kansas City, MO.; and many special friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 4700 Vance Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling starting at 10:00am; Pastor Craig Duke officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the church.
