He was born on April 19, 1939, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Wayne and Mary Lavaun (Hart) Colvin. Larry was a graduate of North Side High School, Fort Wayne and served his country for six years in the U.S. Army. He worked at International Harvester in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis for 35 years. He loved the outdoors, traveling, church activities, being a woodcarver, and his winter home in Florida.
Surviving include his wife of 58 years, Lynne; son, Guy (Monica) Colvin of Grabill, Indiana; and daughter, Lori (Joe) Wicen, of Furlong, Pennsylvania. He had a great love for his grandchildren, Randy (Julie) Colvin, Cassidy (Trevor) Toon, Douglas Clarkson, and Sara (Rogene) Rincones; and great grandchildren, Mariella, Kadence, Tanner, and Tucker.
A funeral service celebrating Larry's life will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Taylor Chapel Ministries, 10145 Maysville Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. A private family burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian, Indiana.
