Larry Wayne Ellenwood

Larry W. Ellenwood, 80, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Larry was born on February 20, 1946, to the late Howard D. Ellenwood JR. and Loraine J. (Vogelgesang) Ellenwood.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and spent his working years as a supervisor at International Harvester. Larry also enjoyed volunteering at Cross Border Partners where he made many great friends. He will be remembered for cracking jokes and singing his favorite songs.

Larry married the love of his life, Laura (Tinsley) Ellenwood, who survives him. Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who cherished the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Ellenwood; daughter, Carrie Kiess; son, Andrew (Erin) Ellenwood; Stepdaughter, Shannon (Scott) Kahlig; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Nick) Sarrazine, Zachary Kiess, Reilly and William Ellenwood; step-grandchildren, Josh, Nikki, and Jessica Kahlig; brothers, John Ellenwood and Ken Ellenwood; sister, Judy (Larry) Horton.

Larry was preceded in death by infant daughter, Amy Ellenwood, and brother, Jeff Ellenwood.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46835

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, with one hour of visitation prior to service.

Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers preferred memorials are to Cross Border Partners or Great Lakes Burn camp.
