Lois Ann Taritas

Lois Ann Taritas, 74, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025. Lois was born on April 27, 1950 in Rugby, North Dakota, a daughter of the late Carl and Alice (Hermanson) Strand. She mainly worked at home, caring for the family. Lois attended Grace Point Church of the Nazarene and Heartland Church of Fort Wayne and was a part of many of their prayer chains. In her free time, Lois was active in women's prison ministry and volunteered at Charis House, Fort Wayne. Her faith was important to her, she can be described as a very faithful and courageous person. Most important to Lois though was her family, she loved creating quilts for each member and just going to their activities and being a part of their lives. Surviving family include her daughter, Nichole (Richard) Long; son, Chad Eldridge; grandchildren, Alexis Eldridge, Peyton Miles, Ethan Eldridge, and Brayden Eldridge; sister, Thelma Schirmer; and brother, Thomas Strand. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her sister, Diane Petersen. A visitation for Lois will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. A celebration of life service will occur Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Heartland Church of Fort Wayne, 1025 Vance Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805, with additional gathering following the service until 5:00 pm.
