

Lucille M. Brandt, 94, of Fort Wayne passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Lutheran Life Villages - Village at Anthony Boulevard. Born on November 15, 1927 in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Lena (Meyer) Schmidt. Lucille was a 1946 graduate of New Haven High School. She went on to work at Central Soya and the telephone company for a number of years. On May 24, 1958, the Reverend Henry Abrams married Lucille and the love of her life, Henry J. Brandt, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. They were long time members at Zion Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. Lucille will be remembered for her strong faith in the Lord and dedication to her church where she was very involved in many different ways such as church secretary. She also volunteered at Lutheran Hospital in her free time. Surviving family include her nephews, Dave (Carol) Bennett and Jim (Becky) Bennett, many great nieces and nephews; cousins, Bob and Willard Godfrey; along with many godchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Henry; sister, Maxine Bennett; and nephew, Richard Bennett. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2313 South Hanna Street, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 4:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, or Eleos Hospice Care.
