She was born on May 6, 1953, to the late Raymond E. Lerch and Marjorie I. (Borkenstein) Lerch. Ann was united in marriage to the late Daniel H. Muldoon at St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church in Fort Myers Beach, FL, where they resided at the time. Together, they shared a love of travel, history, and art, often taking road trips to visit museums and historical landmarks. A journey along Route 66 led them to Santa Fe, N.M., which became Ann’s favorite city. She passed her passion for history and art on to her son and granddaughter.
Ann’s greatest joy was being in, on, or near the water. Swimming was her favorite form of exercise. After Dan’s retirement, they spent winters in Florida to be close to the beaches and pools she loved so much.
Ann had an eye for unique finds and was a devoted antique and thrift store shopper—long before it was trendy. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, and caring for the birds she loved to watch from her kitchen window.
Ann treasured her lifelong friendships and the new ones she made in later years. Throughout her illness, she was supported by dear friends Chris Jacquay Pranger and Lynn Blakely. She was also blessed by the love of her longtime friend Deb Osterholt and her newest friend, Cindy Krouse. Growing up, Ann always wanted a sister. At the end of her life, God blessed her with four.
Ann was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Dan, in 2020 and by her brother, Raymond E. Lerch, Jr. She is survived by her beloved son, Eric (Holly) Muldoon, and her loving granddaughter, Kendall Muldoon. Special gratitude goes to Holly for being the best bookkeeper and daughter-in-law around. Ann is also survived by her brother, Stephen (Jerri) Lerch; her wonderful sister-in-law, Patt Jones; and special nephew, Chad McDaniel, along with other nieces and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to hospice nurses, Tammy and Julie, and to her extraordinary caregiver, Linda Murua, who provided care and compassion beyond measure—an angel on earth.
Per Ann’s wishes, no service will be held. Her ashes, along with Dan’s and her mother’s, will be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico near Fort Myers Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kate’s Kart in Fort Wayne.
