

MANUEL "MANNY" PEREZ SR., 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital. Born June 5, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, he retired in 2001 from Super Valu Distribution Center after 25 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he assisted in communion and also served as an usher. He was on the City Bowling Championship Team in 1989, he had three hole in one's in his golfing career and he also had the honor of pitching a no hitter in softball. He was an avid IU and Dallas Cowboy's fan. Surviving are wife, Diane "His Angel"; sons, Mark (Carol) Perez of Anderson, S.C. and Manuel (Melissa) Perez Jr. of Greenwood, Ind.; daughters, Lisa (Joe) Hueganard of Tampa, Fla. and Anita (Mike) Bliss of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; sister, Yolanda (Bob) Suarez of Fort Wayne; brother, John (Mary) Perez of Fort Wayne; and his dog, Casey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mercedes Perez; and brother, Tony Perez. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1636 St. Mary's Ave. with calling one hour prior. Rev. Russell Dewell officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
