Marilyn L. Strawser, 83, of Fort Wayne, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on December 30, 2015. Born on December 16, 1932, in Toronto, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Ruby (Young) Schmidt. Marilyn grew up in Kitchner, Ontario, before moving to Fort Wayne, where she met her husband Donald. Marilyn attended North Side High School, and worked as an executive Secretary at Phelps Dodge and as a telephone operator at International Harvester. She enjoyed traveling, especially to far off places. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald; son, Scott (Ruth); one brother and one sister.
Funeral service will be 10am Monday January 4, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4pm, on Sunday, January 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana.
