Marlene Ann Romie, 83, Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. She was born on August 20, 1939 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of the late Paul A. and Mary E. (Gordon) Lauer. She was a 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Fort Wayne. Her joy in life was being a stay-at-home mom and caring for her family. She was also very active in pro-life ministries. Surviving family include her children, Mary (Patrick) Cronin, David (Susan) Romie, Michael Romie, Joe Romie, and Kathy (Chris) Cabral; and 12 grandchildren, Zachary Cronin, Shane Cronin, Ty Cronin, Erin Cronin, Mariea (Kyle) Black, Madelyn Romie, Quinn Romie, Hannah Romie, Jacob Romie, Rachel Cabral, Amanda Cabral, and Joel Cabral. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Norbert Romie; infant son, Daniel Martin Romie; grandson, Samuel Romie; daughter-in-law, Alice Romie; sisters, Carolyn Ritenour and Mary Ellison; and brother, Gordon Lauer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with a Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
